Overview of the Role
As a Product Owner (f/m/d) specializing in Mechanical Engineering Transformers, you will play a pivotal role in our commitment to enhancing factory efficiency. You will collaborate within a globally distributed development team, focusing on the creation of software components and the establishment of methodologies and architectural concepts for mechanical engineering tools. Your goal is to ensure the development of standardized components in an agile manner, enabling the timely delivery of innovative and sustainable engineering software solutions while minimizing operational costs. Your expertise will also assist in addressing unique functional requirements from end-users, contributing to sustainable software development aligned with Siemens Energy's standards, including cybersecurity and modern development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Define development guidelines for Transformer software tools and actively influence their evolution.
- Analyze and evaluate business/user requirements, designing solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and project teams.
- Oversee the handover and maintenance of software components for internal operations at transformer production sites, providing user support as needed.
- Enhance development methodologies and processes within a diverse, agile, and highly skilled team.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams in an international setting.
- Contribute to the Siemens Energy transformer business by improving quality, efficiency, and sustainability through digitalization and tool development initiatives.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in computer science or related fields such as physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or software engineering.
- Extensive experience in developing mechanical and/or electromagnetic software components tailored to unique customer needs.
- In-depth knowledge of transformer portfolios, encompassing electrical and mechanical design processes and associated manufacturing technologies.
- Strong communication skills in English, with a willingness to engage in international travel.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and the Scaled Agile Framework is advantageous.
- Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
- Background in software development projects, including GIT workflows and continuous integration/deployment practices.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, microservices architecture, and object-oriented programming, particularly in C++ or C#.
