Drive Tax Excellence
- Oversee local tax controlling, strategic planning, and compliance with local tax laws and adidas' internal policies.
- Provide strategic advice on optimizing tax-efficient structures in local operating units, impacting the local adidas P&L account.
- Develop, communicate, and control the implementation of the global/regional tax strategy for and of all related policies across the dedicated Europe Countries.
- Lead and manage working groups composed of internal staff and external resources in the Europe Countries.
- Manage major tax audits, providing guidance on audit defense strategy, negotiating with local tax administrations, and evaluating and deciding on audit settlement options.
- Plan and execute effective tax risk management, including risk reporting, assessment of exposure, provisioning at local level, risk avoidance, and minimization.
- Participate in major decisions in the Europe Countries, such as major contracts and initiatives.
- Review compliance with global strategy and policies and national regulations in the Europe Countries.
- Evaluate the impact of changes in international and domestic law on adidas' tax position.
- Guide finance directors and tax professionals on tax audit conduct.
- Align local practices with legal requirements to minimize adidas' tax exposure.
- Optimize adidas' position regarding the interdependence between transfer pricing, VAT/indirect tax, corporate tax, wage tax, and customs valuation.

Technical Expertise and Soft Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of international and German tax regulations in the Europe Countries, including tax declaration requirements.
- Operative credibility and knowledge to understand business interests, function-specific issue identification capability, and a mindset to foster trustful partnerships beyond tax.
- Professional communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills (both internally and externally).
- Experience in utilizing corporate accounting and reporting systems. SAP knowledge welcome.
- Fluent in English.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or above in finance/economics/taxation with professional qualification. Tax advisor exam preferred but not required.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in a multinational group or Big4 Accounting firm.
