Role Overview

As a Senior Research Software Engineer, you will be pivotal in the conception and execution of feasibility studies aimed at validating innovative development concepts. Your expertise will ensure that high standards of experimental quality and deep theoretical understanding are maintained throughout all phases of product development, from initial research to full-scale production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement feasibility experiments to substantiate new development ideas.
  • Maintain rigorous experimental quality and theoretical depth across all stages of product evolution.
  • Address complex challenges with effective solutions and execution strategies, showcasing your problem-solving skills.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to develop control software for hardware components.
  • Contribute significantly to the product development lifecycle, ensuring thorough and clear documentation.
  • Apply principles related to intellectual property in drafting invention disclosures, patents, and publications, safeguarding innovative concepts and technologies.
  • Represent the organization positively through productive interactions with external clients and collaborators.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in developing sophisticated software solutions for analytical instrumentation, either in an industrial or academic setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly in both team environments and independently, maintaining a structured and detail-oriented scientific approach.
  • Proficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Knowledgeable in instrument control, scripting, or automation of experimental processes.
  • Experience in mass spectrometry and its applications is advantageous.
