Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Scientist Researcher to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for conceiving and implementing feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experiment Design and Implementation: Design and implement feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts, ensuring high experimental quality and deep theoretical penetration throughout all stages of product development.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate closely with colleagues to create control software for hardware components, playing an important role in the product development process.
  • Documentation and Intellectual Property: Ensure clear and comprehensive documentation, and collaboratively apply principles, rules, and strategies related to intellectual property when drafting invention disclosures, patents, publications, and presentations.
  • Customer and Collaborator Interactions: Serve as a representative of the company by positive and productive interactions with external customers and collaborators.
Requirements:
  • Experience and Education: Proven first years industrial or several years academic experience in the development of sophisticated software solutions for analytic instrumentation.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently, and effective and efficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Demonstrate knowledge of instrument control, scripting, or automation of experiments, and experience in the field of mass spectrometry and its applications is appreciated.
