Project Coordinator for Marine Navigation Solutions

Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine is a prominent entity in the marine navigation systems sector, delivering comprehensive technical solutions tailored for the commercial market.

We are seeking a qualified Project Manager to enhance our Project Management team in Hamburg.

The Project Manager will oversee a cross-functional team tasked with delivering radar, chart, service, and navigation products within the Sperry Marine Commercial Product Line. Responsibilities will encompass all facets of project management, including scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment and mitigation, supply chain coordination, remote subcontractor management, and reporting project progress to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning individual product configurations up to integrated bridge systems.
  • Managing the assigned Integrated Bridge Navigation System (IBS) project from order placement to final handover to the client.
  • Leading the project engineering team in the creation and review of technical documentation and drawings.
  • Ensuring timely delivery, including dispatching shipping components and documentation to clients.
  • Assisting the sales team with technical solutions in accordance with all relevant regulations from classification societies, flag states, and ISO & IEC standards.
  • Addressing technical inquiries through to system design.
  • Collaborating across departments with both internal and external stakeholders, including product management, development, purchasing, sales, and service.
  • Reporting project status to senior leadership, including updates on schedule, budget, and associated KPIs.

Candidate Profile:

Desired Qualifications:
  • A university degree in electrical engineering or equivalent training.
  • Proficiency in project management and digital solutions within network environments and computer applications.
  • A structured and solution-oriented approach characterized by process-oriented thinking.
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication with international clients and teams.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel.
  • Initial familiarity with the maritime sector, particularly navigation equipment and relevant regulations, is advantageous.
