Role Overview

Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine is a leading entity in the marine navigation systems sector, delivering comprehensive technical solutions tailored for the commercial market.

Our extensive product range is continually evolving, driven by significant growth and an ambitious development strategy.

We are currently seeking a skilled Project Manager to enhance our Project Management team in Hamburg.

The Project Manager will oversee a multidisciplinary team tasked with delivering radar, chart, service, and navigation products as part of the Sperry Marine Commercial Product Line. The responsibilities include managing all facets of the project such as scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment and mitigation, supply chain management, coordination with remote subcontractors, and reporting project progress to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop individual product configurations up to integrated bridge systems.
  • Oversee the Integrated Bridge Navigation System (IBS) project from order placement to final delivery to the client.
  • Lead the project engineering team in the creation and evaluation of technical drawings and documentation.
  • Ensure timely delivery, including the dispatch of shipping components and documentation to clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical solutions that comply with all relevant regulations, including those from classification societies and ISO & IEC standards.
  • Address technical inquiries and contribute to system design.
  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including product management, development, purchasing, sales, and service teams.
  • Report project status to senior leadership, including updates on schedule, budget, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Candidate Profile:

Desired Qualifications:
  • A completed university degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in project management and digital solutions within network environments and computer applications.
  • A structured and solution-oriented approach characterized by process-oriented thinking.
  • Fluency in English for effective communication with international clients and teams.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel.
  • Familiarity with the maritime sector, particularly navigation equipment and associated regulations, is advantageous.
