The Sperry Marine Engineering Division, located in New Malden, UK, and Hamburg, Germany, is responsible for the innovation and upkeep of Sperry Marine's extensive product range and ambitious development agenda.
We are a genuinely multidisciplinary group, featuring professionals from electronics, software, mechanical, systems engineering, and testing backgrounds, all collaborating in integrated teams to create top-tier products and solutions.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Lead Technical Solutions Specialist to join our ranks.
Acting as the primary liaison within Engineering for our teams' assistance with potential engineering-related challenges arising from clients in the field, production, or quality-related matters that require engineering root cause analysis and solution development. A crucial aspect of the role will involve collaborating closely with various stakeholders and will encompass a mix of: Data gathering Laboratory-based issue assessment and fault replication Comprehensive and cross-disciplinary technical analysis and solution formulation Reporting, documentation, planning estimation, and stakeholder communication Key elements of the role workflow will include: From an initial report of an issue, which could originate from multiple sources (potentially simultaneously) – collect, organize, and assess all available data and reports, adhering to engineering protocols. Evaluate whether sufficient work has been conducted 'at source' by either Production Engineering or Field Service to reasonably ascertain that there is an engineering issue that needs addressing. Identify potential root cause issues when feasible, or gather enough data and materials to document the problem for handover to the broader team for solution execution. During assessment and investigation, provide regular status updates to various stakeholders, customizing reports and updates based on the intended audience. If the issue has resulted in a formal Non-Conformance Report, then follow the NCR process to document any solutions or root cause analysis conducted. For production-related challenges where an engineering modification is necessary to resolve the issues, detailed discussions may be required with the Production Engineering team and Supplier Quality to implement the changes into production.About You:
Demonstrated ability to address system-wide challenges in intricate technical environments Proven skills in investigation and debugging for complex technical issues Exceptional communication, presentation, and explanatory abilities (both written and verbal) Strong persuasion, negotiation, and reporting skills Detail-oriented and solution-focused with a customer-centric mindset Capable of managing their own projects and broader solution delivery Proficient IT skills and experience with fault tracking systems, e.g., Jira and Zendesk Familiarity with issue tracking in QA processes for production or software & system testing Self-reliant when necessary, yet a collaborative team player Composed under pressure and able to maintain focus on achieving solutionsWhat You Gain in Return:
