Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analog IC Layout Design Intern to join our team at Renesas Electronics. As a key member of our Analog Layout Design Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality layout designs and collaborating with other engineers to resolve technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with layout and circuit design engineers to deliver projects and resolve technical issues.
  • Utilize EDA tools (Cadence and Synopsys) for layout design and verification, including cell and block level creation, editing, and full verification.
  • Apply state-of-the-art layout techniques for matching, ESD, latch-up prevention, and parasitic reduction, with a strong understanding of the physical process.
  • Attend project meetings, assess and report on timescale risks, and contribute to review sessions.
  • Where possible, utilize schematic-driven layout and consider top-level auto-routing.
  • Prepare documents and data for wafer tape out.

Qualifications

  • Student in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of integrated analog circuit design and chip layout.
  • Highly self-motivated and adaptable, with a basic knowledge of CMOS devices and design principles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with layout techniques for matching, ESD, latch-up prevention, and parasitic reduction.
  • Experience in analog IC/mixed signals IC layout designs and verifications, with a focus on chip size reduction.
