Finance Intern

We are seeking a dedicated Finance and Accounting Intern (m/f/d) to become an integral part of our Finance department within our innovative portfolio company.
In this internship, you will collaborate closely with our finance and accounting professionals, engaging in essential financial operations and gaining critical insights into financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. This role will expose you to various finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and auditing.
Our portfolio company, established in 2021 and headquartered in Berlin, operates a pioneering marketplace that transforms one of the largest supply chains globally. The company's mission is to unlock the immense potential of cross-border supply for the Western Market by offering global access to high-quality products through its cutting-edge platform. Since its inception, the firm has discreetly served numerous companies without public exposure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the creation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support financial analysis initiatives by collecting and interpreting financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain precise financial records and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and accounting principles.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks by processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Contribute to tax filing and compliance efforts by gathering necessary documentation and completing required forms.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Growth, Operations, Tech) to support financial projects and initiatives as necessary.
- Currently enrolled (or recently graduated) in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in German and possess good English language skills.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and derive meaningful insights.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective teamwork.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive mindset and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
This internship opportunity is based in our Berlin office, and eligibility to work within the EU is required.
