POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a:

Director of Direct Sales EMEA (m/f/div.)

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports to: Head of Life Science Sales EMEA

TEAM SIZE: 35 employees, with 7-8 direct reports

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of sales managers and specialists focused on direct sales across the EMEA region.
  • Establish annual sales strategies and plans for the region, including customer targeting initiatives.
  • Align and execute the annual marketing strategy and sales activities across all customer segments in line with the overarching sales strategy.
  • Manage the pipeline of opportunities to ensure accurate order entry forecasts.
  • Provide coaching and support to enhance the sales team's skills in both acquisition and account management.
  • Engage with strategic accounts and facilitate solution selling in key customer segments.
  • Coordinate promotional initiatives within the region.
  • Analyze cross-selling performance and sales efficiency metrics.
  • Monitor sales activities on strategic accounts to ensure forecast accuracy and sustainable growth.
  • Oversee regional CRM usage and lead the sales process for deals within the territory.
  • Evaluate the performance of sales teams, focusing on activities, product mix, and conversion rates.
  • Drive sales growth through regular performance reviews with management.
  • Develop and implement strategies in alignment with central directives, working closely with sales management in your region.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree, preferably in natural sciences or microscopy.
  • Extensive experience in sales, particularly in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical understanding and interest in complex technologies.
  • Proven track record in European sales.
  • Experience with KPI and performance management.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and other business tools.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Valid Class B driving license.
