Sustainable Development Director

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Global Sustainability Manager. This is a key role that will play a critical part in supporting our business strategy and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the business decision-making process on strategic initiatives that impact our long-term sustainability goals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our sustainable development strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our products and services portfolio, with a focus on sustainability.
- Support the Innovation and Technology team in their decision-making process to drive sustainability impact.
- Coordinate the governance process for sustainability, including long-term goal tracking and strategic review.
- Work with the Institutional Relationship team to develop and implement our advocacy strategy in partnership with sustainability associations.
- Engage with external working groups to address the impacts of chemicals and plastics on sustainable development.
- Support stakeholder engagement and communication, including investors and the value chain.
- Develop and implement knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives to enhance sustainability awareness and results.
- Coordinate with the Communication team and Investor Relationship team to ensure effective stakeholder communication.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, sustainability, or business administration.
- Strong experience in sustainable development, with a focus on business engagement and strategy.
- Knowledge of science-based tools, such as life cycle assessment and sustainable portfolio management.
- Experience leading teams and projects, with a focus on sustainability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and summarize complex data.
- Flexibility to work with colleagues in different time zones.
- Language proficiency in English, with Portuguese and Spanish beneficial.
- Experience in the chemical or petrochemical industry highly beneficial.
