Unit Overview The Large Projects Offshore unit plays a vital role in the energy transition, focusing on the comprehensive development of the offshore grid. This unit is tasked with the development and realization of DC interconnectors and offshore wind farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Sub Project Lead - Cable Installation Nearshore (m/w/d) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of cables in tidal zones up to the 10-meter waterline. You will collaborate with your colleagues to manage the project from start to finish, including permits, detailed planning, and handover to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of the designed technical scope in compliance with TenneT's and contractual obligations, as well as all relevant requirements (permits, safety, legal, technical, work plans, etc.).
- Review relevant procedures, work plans, and outputs; monitor EPC contractors to ensure they meet their contractual obligations, particularly regarding timely and high-quality deliverables within budget.
- Facilitate collaboration among TenneT subcontractors, including Client Representatives, environmental experts, and other specialists.
- Supervise on-site activities and ensure all documentation is completed according to TenneT standards.
- Report on the progress and changes related to the work of EPC contractors.
- Academic level of working and thinking; a university degree (FH/H) in civil or mechanical engineering or comparable qualifications.
- Experience in offshore cable installation, particularly in tidal areas; proven track record in managing contractors.
- Proficient in both German and English, as effective communication with German authorities and international partners is essential.
- High level of independence and initiative; strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel and work on construction sites during building activities; a valid driver's license (class B) is required.
