About the Role

We are embarking on an exciting new phase by establishing a Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCU/S) division, aimed at delivering sustainable contracting solutions throughout the entire CO2 value chain.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial initiatives to deploy large-scale carbon capture systems at industrial sites and power plants across Europe, focusing on post-combustion carbon capture with capacities exceeding 100 kt/a.
  • Oversee contract and claim management, primarily for EPC and engineering agreements, including the development of commercial specifications, tendering processes, evaluations, negotiations, and contract finalizations, in collaboration with legal and technical experts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in drafting and negotiating various standardized international supply contracts while navigating different national legal frameworks.
  • Act as the liaison between project teams and E.ON's central procurement department, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Conduct ongoing budget monitoring and reporting, alongside continuous risk management from project award to acceptance.
  • Facilitate the pre-qualification of suppliers and service providers to ensure adherence to standards and compliance requirements, while fostering supplier development.

Your Profile

  • A university degree or equivalent with a strong commercial foundation and extensive knowledge of procurement and tendering processes; in-depth understanding of international contract management and legal frameworks.
  • Significant experience in commercial project and contract management within the process plant construction, energy sector, or related fields.
  • Proven purchasing capabilities, even in complex and challenging environments.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high level of commitment; a collaborative and confident approach to negotiations and supplier communications.
  • Ability to engage with technical and process engineering specifications, as well as legal aspects of contract law, to grasp procurement comprehensively (technical, commercial, legal).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and German (minimum B2 level); proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP BI and SAP Materials Management, along with advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Willingness to undertake short business trips across Europe to engage with clients and stakeholders.
