Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial projects to implement large-scale carbon capture facilities at industrial sites and power plants across Europe (post-combustion carbon capture with capacities exceeding 100 kt/a) Manage contracts and claims (primarily EPC and engineering contracts), including the establishment of commercial specifications, tendering processes, evaluations, negotiations, and final contract agreements, with support from legal and technical experts throughout the project lifecycle Engage in drafting and negotiating various standardized international supply contracts while navigating different national legal frameworks Serve as the process liaison between project teams and E.ON's central procurement department in Essen, as well as project management and business units Oversee project budget monitoring and reporting, alongside continuous risk management from the award phase to project acceptance Conduct supplier and service provider pre-qualifications to ensure compliance with standards and facilitate supplier developmentCandidate Profile
A university degree or equivalent with a strong commercial background and extensive knowledge of procurement and tendering processes; in-depth understanding of international contract management and legal frameworks Several years of experience in commercial project and contract management within process plant construction, the energy sector, or related fields Proven purchasing capabilities, even in complex and challenging situations An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and demonstrate a high level of commitment; a team-oriented approach with confidence in negotiations and communication with suppliers and service providers Ability to navigate technical and process engineering specifications, as well as legal aspects and contract law, to understand procurement comprehensively (technical, commercial, legal) Proficiency in written and spoken English and German (minimum B2 level); knowledge of additional languages is advantageous Familiarity with SAP BI and SAP Materials Management, along with strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel Willingness to undertake short business trips within Europe to engage with customers and stakeholders Benefits
