Senior Technology Manager for Medical Innovations

About Us
At SCHOTT, we are on the lookout for a visionary Senior Manager of Technology and New Business Development within our corporate "New Venture" team, focusing on the Med Tech sector. This role is pivotal in recognizing and cultivating SCHOTT's growth prospects in the Medical and Life Sciences arena, while establishing a robust pipeline for innovation that complements our current operations.
This position is integrated into a development initiative designed for high-potential individuals aiming to transition into advanced roles within a 3 to 5-year timeframe through self-directed growth. Participants will gain exposure to diverse business sectors, along with opportunities for networking and visibility at the executive level.
Your Responsibilities
- Identifying and developing new business avenues that align with SCHOTT's existing portfolio.
- Conducting strategic assessments to uncover new business opportunities for SCHOTT, along with market and application analysis.
- Leading teams with budgetary responsibilities in complex, international projects that involve sophisticated technological concepts.
- Formulating conceptual frameworks (business, sales, implementation models) for targeted applications.
- Creating detailed business plans to facilitate informed decision-making and operational execution.
- Engaging proactively with internal departments, prospective clients, and external collaborators.
- Translating innovative business concepts into actionable strategies within business units, aiding in the marketing and sales development of new products.
Your Profile
- Exceptional academic credentials in a technical, natural science, or materials discipline, preferably with a doctorate, complemented by business training and a proven track record.
- Strong business insight coupled with a profound understanding of technology.
- Extensive international experience in business development within a technology firm or a prestigious consultancy with a strong technological emphasis.
- Outstanding analytical and conceptual abilities; adept at compiling, evaluating, and interpreting market data.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong dedication to collaborative teamwork.
- Awareness of technological advancements in the MEDTECH and Life Sciences sectors, with a knack for identifying innovative product concepts and business opportunities.
- Demonstrated success in international project collaboration as part of cross-functional teams, ideally with project management experience.
- Fluent in business English (both written and spoken); proficiency in German is an advantage.
