SCHOTT is on the lookout for a proactive Technology and New Business Manager to join our corporate "New Venture" team. This role focuses on uncovering and nurturing business prospects to establish a robust innovation pipeline.
This position is integrated into a development program designed for high-potential individuals aiming for career advancement within 3 to 5 years through self-directed growth. Participants will gain exposure to diverse business sectors, along with opportunities for networking and visibility at senior management levels.
Your Responsibilities
- Identify strategic areas for new business opportunities at SCHOTT and analyze technological trends within relevant markets and applications.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis utilizing various information sources.
- Assess technologies for new business ventures and generate innovative business concepts. Assist in evaluating these ideas based on volume, profitability, cost structures, business models, technology, competitive positioning, risks, intellectual property, and roadmapping.
- Initiate technological research and support new business initiatives concerning commercial aspects such as business models, competition analysis, and customer relationship development.
- Lead smaller projects and coordinate collaborations with academic institutions and research organizations.
Your Profile
You possess an excellent honors degree in a scientific discipline, preferably with a PhD, or a university degree in a technical or natural science field with a doctorate and additional business training; ideally, you have a background in functional materials.
With over 3 years of international experience in business or new business development within a technology firm or a prestigious consultancy with a strong technological emphasis, you have demonstrated the ability to translate technology into business opportunities and possess strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Your entrepreneurial mindset and understanding of relevant technological trends are essential. You have a proven history of successful collaboration in international projects as part of cross-functional teams, ideally with project management experience.
Fluency in business English (both written and spoken) is required, and knowledge of German is a significant advantage.
