Join our esteemed Run Off Solutions team at Hannover Re, where we focus on the intricate management of reinsurance contract portfolios, particularly in legacy business. We are currently seeking an Economist with expertise in Run Off Management for a temporary engagement. Our team operates under the direct oversight of the Executive Board, committed to minimizing liability risks and optimizing capital utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structuring and negotiating commutations to facilitate effective contract management
  • Overseeing outstanding receivables through commutations or setoffs
  • Reducing reserves and finalizing contracts efficiently
  • Enabling portfolio transfers to enhance operational efficiency
  • Managing claims within legal frameworks, including insolvencies
  • Contributing to the formulation of run off strategies, tools, guidelines, and reporting processes

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A university degree in business administration, economics, or law
  • Extensive experience in primary insurance or reinsurance sectors
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a methodical work approach
  • Proficiency in standard software applications and a willingness to learn new analytical tools
  • IT proficiency and experience in run off management, particularly in commutations, is advantageous
  • Excellent negotiation capabilities and experience in collaborative team environments
  • Fluency in both German and English for professional communication
