Economist Run Off Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Economist Run Off Management Specialist to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Run Off Solutions team, you will play a crucial role in managing our legacy reinsurance contract portfolios.
Key Responsibilities- Structuring and negotiating commutations to optimize portfolio performance
- Collecting outstanding receivables through commutations or setoffs
- Reducing reserves and closing contracts to minimize liability risk
- Transferring portfolios to ensure smooth business operations
- Filing claims in formal proceedings such as insolvencies
- Contributing to the design of run off concepts, strategies, and work tools
- University degree or equivalent in business administration, economics, business law, or law
- Several years of experience in primary insurance or reinsurance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong understanding of numbers and financial concepts
- Proficiency in standard software applications, with a willingness to learn data warehouse applications and analytics systems
- Strong negotiating skills and experience working in self-organized teams
- Fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively
- A hybrid work model with flexible working hours and 30 days of annual leave
