Reinsurance Economist for Italian Market

Opportunity Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Economist / Mathematician / Underwriter focusing on the Italian Market to contribute to our operations in the Central European markets. This role is based at our headquarters in Hanover, Germany.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a reinsurance treaty portfolio that includes primary insurance companies in Italy.
  • Evaluate reinsurance inquiries from clients, conducting thorough risk assessments.
  • Calculate premiums and facilitate the entire process leading to decision-making.
  • Prepare, review, and amend treaty documents along with final treaty administration.
  • Monitor trends in the primary insurance and reinsurance markets within the designated region.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Conduct balance sheet, solvency, and KPI analyses to create tailored reinsurance solutions for clients.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as economics, mathematics, or business administration.
  • Some experience in the (re)insurance or financial sectors, preferably through internships.
  • Proficient in English, with independent proficiency in German and Italian, complemented by strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes, approximately three to four times a year, for client meetings and market events.
  • An international perspective, negotiation skills, and a passion for enhancing our market position among leading reinsurers.
