To bolster our initiatives, we are seeking a Senior Data Scientist who will work closely with engineering and product teams to critically assess the existing routing system and implement enhancements that elevate the customer experience.

In this position, you will have access to data from millions of route requests each day, alongside actual driving behaviors. You will utilize this data and analytical frameworks to pinpoint optimization opportunities, design and evaluate online experiments, and make informed, data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will possess strong business insight to suggest product modifications, develop comprehensive technical solutions, and thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead impactful projects and innovate solutions to enhance the routing experience.
  • Examine ride data, identify driver challenges, prioritize feature requests, and contribute to the roadmap and architecture aligned with business objectives.
  • Utilize data and analytical frameworks to uncover growth and efficiency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, marketers, designers, and operators to transform data insights into actionable decisions and experiments.
  • Create analytical frameworks and models to assess business and product performance.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the health of our products, business, and customer satisfaction.
  • Guide, influence, mentor, and inspire others in a dynamic environment.
  • Develop tools and dashboards to enhance visibility for other teams.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in statistics, economics, applied mathematics, operations research, or engineering (advanced degrees preferred), or relevant professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or management consulting.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with big data processing and distributed data pipelines, including tools like Apache Airflow and Spark.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred: Experience in navigation systems or mapping technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an international setting with a diverse group of engineers across various locations.

This role will follow a hybrid work schedule, with expectations to work in the office three days a week. Additionally, hybrid roles allow for flexibility to work remotely for up to four weeks annually.
