Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our insurance practice. As a key member of our team, you will apply data science methods and analytics to real-world business situations across the insurance sector, driving significant business impact. You will work closely with partners and managing directors to drive our company's growth and business development, and will be responsible for developing and delivering thought leadership, managing teams of data scientists and engineers, and building innovative new products and analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage client engagements and relationships, providing thought leadership to teams
- Explain sophisticated data science concepts in an understandable manner, acting as an interface between business and technology
- Distill complex results or processes into simple, clear visualizations
- Apply advanced analytics to a variety of business situations, synthesizing complex data and translating it into business implications for our insurance clients
- Lead and manage projects and teams, driving commercial impact in the insurance sector
- Develop and deliver thought leadership, managing teams of data scientists and engineers
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant industry work experience in an insurance company or insurtech startup, providing advanced analytics solutions
- Advanced degree required in a field linked to business analytics, statistics, or geo-statistics, operations research, geography, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related field
- Strong record of professional accomplishment and leadership
- Deep technical and data science expertise, acute strategic and analytical skills, ability to lead and persuade, drive and energy, and desire to work in a project-based environment
- Fluency in at least one coding language (Python)
