This role is a W2 fixed-term tenure-track professorship, offering a unique opportunity for advancement to a tenured W3 position.

Research Environment

The successful candidate will be integrated into the Department of Engineering Physics and Computation at the TUM School of Engineering and Design.


Key Responsibilities
The selected individual will engage in both research and teaching, while also fostering the development of early-career researchers.

We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Experimental Fluid Dynamics, focusing on areas such as:

- Complex physical flows
- Flows involving shocks and interfaces
- Control and optimization of flows in various sectors including process engineering, energy, automotive, and manufacturing
- Complex flows relevant to medicine, biology, and life sciences

Teaching duties will encompass courses in the university's undergraduate and graduate programs, alongside the enhancement of fluid mechanics curricula.


Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of scientific contributions and the ability to conduct independent research at a globally recognized level. A relevant university degree and an exceptional doctoral degree or equivalent qualification are essential, along with demonstrated pedagogical skills. Significant research experience abroad is highly desirable.
