Position Overview
The Technische Universität München (TUM) is seeking applications for the role of Assistant Professor in Architectural Surface Conservation. This position is structured as a W2 fixed-term tenure-track professorship, offering a pathway to a tenured W3 position.

Academic Environment

This professorship will be affiliated with either the Department of Architecture or the Department of Materials Engineering within the TUM School of Engineering and Design. The role benefits from a distinctive interdisciplinary setting that merges architecture with engineering.


Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will engage in both research and teaching, as well as mentor early-career researchers.

We are looking for an individual with expertise in the field of Architectural Surface Conservation, focusing on the research, development, and application of methods and materials for the preservation of both historic and modern buildings, bridging the gap between architecture and materials science.

Teaching duties will encompass courses offered in the university's undergraduate and graduate programs.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of significant scientific contributions and the ability to conduct independent research at a high international standard.

A relevant university degree and an exceptional doctoral degree or equivalent scientific credentials are essential, along with demonstrated teaching capabilities.
