As an Engineering Manager, you will oversee a team of 5 to 10 skilled and innovative Platform Engineers, currently organized into two distinct teams. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our products and their underlying infrastructures meet the production and operational standards anticipated by our clients. You will serve as a hands-on leader, fostering strong teams and individual growth, driving goal achievement, and aligning technical excellence with the strategic objectives of the business.
Your Responsibilities:- Team Leadership and Development: Directing 1-2 engineering teams, offering mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and facilitating team success and career progression.
- Technical Vision and Strategy: Collaborating closely with technical leadership to cultivate the technical culture and synchronize technical strategies with overarching business objectives (including VPs, Heads of Departments, Architecture, and Security Officers).
- Company-wide Technical Excellence: Championing and overseeing company-wide technology initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation with your teams. Key focus areas include Site Reliability Engineering and security, emphasizing operational excellence and IT processes (e.g., Incident Management), as well as both offensive and defensive security measures.
- Talent Acquisition: Partnering with our recruitment team to attract and retain top-tier technical talent.
- A proven history of hiring and leading teams that have successfully delivered and maintained highly available, distributed systems.
- Several years of practical experience in Site Reliability Engineering and Security Engineering.
- Familiarity with product discovery techniques for internal customers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
