We are now on the lookout for an experienced **Regional Trade Sales Director (m/w/d) for Europe**. This role will work across our three main operating groups - Midway Attractions, Resort Theme Parks and LEGOLAND Parks, leading a team across the Europe Estate. Our attractions in Europe are located across Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Finland, Denmark and Turkey.

This is an exiting new role in a great team, where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference. The role will be located in Germany, and although the Hamburg or Berlin area is preferred, we are flexible on the location (within Germany).

**Scope of the Role**

This role will have the authority and capabilities to develop the profile of Trade across the region, challenge the status quo and bring about cohesive thinking; in turn maximising performance to budget, cost efficiencies and both international and domestic delivery.

This role will be responsible for driving new routes to market against agreed KPI’s both directly and through their direct reports across the Merlin Entertainments Group Europe estate (Midway Attractions, Resort Theme Parks and LEGOLAND Parks).

**Key Objectives & Responsibilities**

***Commercial & Strategic**
- Co-ownership of the top 5 strategic partners across Europe and the sales objectives therein
- Support direct reports to achieve commercial efficiency through focusing on key accounts and reducing the ‘tail end’ inefficient accounts.
- Responsible for yield management of central trade revenue within their region, through rigorous interrogation of contract agreements and the development of yield strategies that work harmoniously with all primary revenue channels.
- Accurately report on the region’s sales deliverables, proactively acting on deficit trends and providing timely and appropriate communication to the Global Trade Strategy Director, Regional Marketing Directors, and Finance Business Partners
- Support trade digital integration programmes to reduce cost of sales and support dynamic pricing and product hierarchy modelling.
- Make pricing, promotion, and distribution recommendations to support business growth ambitions in line with market trends.
- Contribute to and ensure that all European central trade budget deliverables are prudent, deliverable and provisioned appropriately with solid activation plans.

**Resources & Reporting**
- Manage and develop the appointed Heads of Trade, conducting regular 1:1 meetings and giving direction on sales opportunities by channel, attraction or visitor type.
- Forge embedded links with Sales and Marketing Directors and Revenue Managers to ensure trade is front and centre of any marketing plans and to develop synergistic sales activities.
- Feed into an integrated group-wide trade strategic platform which maximises sales opportunities, facilitates new business role out and recognises cultural differences across the varying regions.
- Report monthly to the Global Trade Strategy Director on market trading and conditions of the European market with suggested actions

***Influence and Profile**
- Deputise in the absence of the Global Trade Strategy Director as required.
- Represent Merlin at appropriate key industry exhibitions and events

***About you**:

- You possess evidential experience in delivering sales growth to a multi £m/$m budget.
- You have proven experience of effective stakeholder management
- Your critical skills lie in managing resources at a minimum of multi-site level but ideally within a matrix structure and within in a commercial sales capacity.
- You have an in-depth understanding of European trade/tourism distribution channels is preferable.
- Commercial Sales & Marketing experience with a strong knowledge of inbound and outbound tourism
- You have a strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely with authority across a stakeholder structure in various formats.
- You have a good knowledge and ability to develop and deliver presentations in PowerPoint format both face to face
