**The**
**Role**: Emerging European Economist

**The Team**:
The European economics team is an integral part of an extensive global economics team within Market Intelligence which is focused on delivering insightful, forward-looking analysis. Economists work closely with a range of other research functions within the business.

**The Impact**:
The economics team supports the commercial expansion of the Market Intelligence division of S&P Global through the provision of forecasts and analysis across a broad spectrum of economies and thematic issues to a diverse range of multi-national clients.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide insightful economic analysis for several European countries
- Model and forecast macroeconomic conditions for these countries
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly outlook and risk publications
- Provide same-day analysis of major economic news
- Author in-depth reports on key topics and themes
- Respond to internal and external client inquiries
- Interact and coordinate with other regional, data, and analytical groups

**What We're Looking For**:

- Degree in economics, Master's degree preferred
- Relevant work experience, preferably in a commercial environment
- Experience in use of Excel and PowerPoint
- Practical experience of using econometrics, EViews preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Fluency in spoken and written English; familiarity with other European languages a plus
- Dynamic self-starter, enjoys working in teams
