As a Barclays Operational Rigour Risk and Controls, you will be assisting the EU Head of International Corporate Banking, Operational Rigour Team, alongside Coverage Banking division. For this role, you will be accountable for end-to-end global risk, control, and governance function. Evolving and maintaining a robust control environment that supports in achieving its growth strategy and an excellent client experience will also be part of your accountabilities.

**What will you be doing?**
- Ensuring the timely completion of risk and compliance duties, including risk and control assessments (RCSA), co-ordination of attestations, regulatory submissions and issue and risk event reporting
- Providing insightful, practical and actionable conclusions using data analysis, focusing on the key risk indicators to establish effective action plans, mitigate recurring instances
- Identifying and addressing risks, issues and control gaps and effective management/participation in key control forums and analysis/reporting activities
- Providing support to 1/2/3 Lines of Defence Assurance and leading control activities such as Lessons Learnt Assessments and Targeted Risk reviews (TRRs) as identified
- Reviewing, assessing, challenging & approving Risk Events, Issues & Actions; supporting the business in classification in line with the requirements of the Risk & Issues Classification Matrix (RICM)
- Building effective relationships with partners such as EU Country Heads, Coverage/Product Heads, Business Management, Compliance, Legal, Chief Controls Office, Operations and Audit
- Assessing of issues and risk events in line with the requirement of the policy and standard framework
- Contributing to the reduction of costs and operational efficiency, by sharing best practice and improving further the way we manage risk across our business

**What we’re looking for**:

- Some experience with Data Analysis, controls, risk management, compliance or assurance and regulatory landscape for financial services
- Exposure to and experience in financial crime and AML risk management, controls and compliance and the ability to deal with and respond to Regulatory requests and queries
- Stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence at a senior level and a self-starter with excellent communication skills with an ability to take independent decisions to guide the business
- Financial services experience with an understanding of one or several areas such as Digital Banking, FX, Wholesale Lending, Liquidity, Transactions (Payments), regulatory, Trade & Working Capital
