**Job Purpose**:
Responsible for the assessment, implementation and continued development of risk and controls solutions within Citi's German franchise. The individual will identify enhancement opportunities, communicate the details of issues and corrective measures, and align activities to achieve critical governance and control milestones.

**Job Background/Context**:
The individual will support the effort to enhance the Risk and Control Environment within Citi's German Franchise. Responsibilities and projects are complex and require considerable independent judgment and initiative as well as the use of data analysis and business problem solving skills. This role requires attention to detail and strong project management principles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversight of the franchise risk profile and controls, identification of key operational and emerging risks by ensuring appropriate review and continuous assessment, design and execution of those controls and compliance with regulations. Maintain line-of-sight on risk and control matters across all branches in the legal entity.
- Participate in various management forums of the legal entity. Keep the CGME (Citigroup Global Markets Europe) management team aware of the risk and control environment in the region through continuous and open communication, by preparing and hosting Business Risk Committee meetings with the management board to present and follow-up on issues, concerns and correct action plans.
- Coordinating, preparing and participating in various IFM (International Franchise Management) tasks (CCC meetings, IFM survey, etc.)
- Working with the Regional In-Business Risk & Control team to update and help maintain a robust global Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) through Citi's Governance, Risk and Control (GRC) framework. Engage in the risk assessment process, controls and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) thresholds design.
- Interaction with and escalation to the Cluster and the Region and participate in regional committee meetings such as Business Risk & Control, CCO calls, etc
- Work within business controls resources to co-ordinate key controls remediation across the region
- Coordinate the implementation of global and regional risk and control projects and initiatives. Work with the relevant country franchise and First Line teams (including processes tied to internal and external third parties) to map and document processes in order to achieve consistency while addressing local nuances.
- Supporting in all Frankfurt Branch related activities including the Strategic Plan
- MCA Coordinator for the German Franchise.
- Oversee key operational risk areas and maintain a close working relationship with internal policy owners at the second line of defense, including Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), Operational Risk Management (ORM), Information Security (IS), Third Party Management (TPM), etc.
- Responsible for regional management reporting in coordination with local business aligned Risk and Control teams, including quarterly reporting on changes to the control environment, significant events, lessons learned and root cause analysis as applicable.
- Collaborate with the Citi Global teams which may include conference calls with the headquarters in US time zones. Drive initiatives at the legal entity that arise from the Global and regional workstreams and framework.
- Lead or Chair several working groups related to the R&C and implementation of new risk and controls frameworks.
- Chair different workstreams, meetings relating to risk and controls and franchise governance.
- Provide oversight and guidance over the assessment of complex issues, structuring potential solutions and driving effective resolution with other stakeholders.
- Responsible for the cross-border risk and scenario planning process for the franchise.
- Perform complex analyses of comparative data, preparing and presenting regional and global reports related to compliance risk assessments, and monitoring of compliance related issues.
- Partner, collaborate and work with other areas within Citi, as necessary.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy
- Work with control partners and internal audit to facilitate control remediation efforts and audit coverage of the legal entity.
- Support the CCO in franchise related tasks such as VOE actions, succession planning, talent management,, Legal Entity Management, Franchise related issue management, etc
