We have an open position in one of our portfolio companies that are seeking a **Part-time Administrative Assistant & Bookkeeper **to support their offices in Berlin.

We are very keen to hear from a bi-lingual individual looking to work 15 hours a week (occasionally flexibility would be appreciated during heavier workload periods). This could mean being on-site a couple of days a week or working mornings or afternoons on specific days.

**Key responsibilities include**:
The Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper position is responsible for providing office support, clerical, and daily bookkeeping tasks. Confidentiality, efficient time management, excellent organizational skills, and attention to accuracy are essential qualifications for this position, as is the ability to communicate clearly.

Day to Day:

- Responsible for essential tasks relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as directed in accordance with the company's accounting policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining the general ledger.
- Maintain, reconcile, and report on the company expense accounts
- Provide information to the external accountant in a timely manner for the production of financial statements.
- Maintain an accurate and organized file system
- Prepare report data to ensure timely compliance
- Making bank transfers and reconciliation
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director as requested.
- Respond to questions and requests for information from grantors, reporting agencies, etc., as directed by the Executive Director.
- Answer incoming calls and other receptionist duties as requested by the Executive Director.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles
- Knowledge of accounting software and Excel expertise
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand financial data, processes, and procedures
- Perform job responsibilities in an efficient and timely fashion.
- Computer proficiency in Word
- A high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
- Friendly and customer service oriented
- Ability to work onsite in central Berlin
