We're on a mission to make the speciality coffee experience more affordable, digital, and convenient. Centered around emotion - the smell of a morning coffee, the warmth of a coffee cup, the social interaction and conversations shared over a coffee, the smile of the barista weʼre making high-quality coffee radically more accessible.
We're a small but mighty team serving coffees out of our stores in Berlin. We're looking for a VP of Operations to join our team in Berlin Mitte during this pivotal time and work directly with our Co-Founder & CEO.
As a VP of Operations at Lap Coffee, you will be instrumental in the success of our brand. If you are looking to join at an exciting time and have tons of ownership, impact and visibility, this is the place for you.
Tasks
You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, including staffing, sales, financial management, and customer satisfaction. You'll lead by example, motivating the team to deliver exceptional service while driving business growth and profitability.
- Store operations: Lead and manage all aspects of store operations, including staffing, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Commercial initiatives: Drive sales and profitability through effective cost management, upselling strategies, and promotional initiatives.
- Training and development: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by coaching, training, and developing team members.
- Supplier management: Negotiate, set up contracts and ensure quality vs price standards are met.
- Controlling and budgeting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including P&L statements and budget forecasts, to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Customer operations: Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Health and safety: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations. Cross-collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and supply chain, to implement company initiatives and achieve business objectives.

**Requirements**:

- You bring at least 7 years of operational experience in retail F&B, ideally with a mix of retail food and beverage chains ideally at international level. Experience in the coffee industry will be a massive plus.
- You are willing to occasionally travel in order to explore new locations and meet with potential partners.
- Your are entrepreneurial, solution orientated and excited to work on the full-cycle of building a start-up diving into whatever topics need to be done
- You have a creative flair and eye for spotting growth opportunities. You ideate, test and fail fast with working within tight deadlines and budget constraints
- You are fluent in English, German is a strong plus
