Could you be the full-time **Senior Buyer** in **Berlin **we’re looking for?

**Your future role**

You'll be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with selected suppliers, to ensure that continuous improvement initiatives are introduced and maintained in line with Alstom Procurement processes.

We’ll look to you for:

- Leading the Purchasing activity for a family of products or suppliers in order to obtain a competitive advantage for the local business unit
- Providing supply solutions for difficult sourcing issues
- Identifying potential savings and implementing continuous cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensuring the importance of supplier selection and researching and evaluating possible new suppliers in order to provide supply solutions for difficult local sourcing issues not covered by global agreements.
- Manage relationship with suppliers in line with Alstom policies and procedures (Supplier selection/approval/competitiveness/delivery performance)
- Establishing and monitoring supplier performance and conducting Key Supplier Development processes.
- Implementing continual improvement processes and monitors.
- Managing and maintaining commercial relationships with suppliers and conducting complex negotiation on contractual conditions of Purchase. This will include organizing bids and comparing and judging supplier offers relative to new and existing customer requests
- Solving delivery problems that are escalated by the buyers and to continually monitor supplier performance.

- 5-7 years of relevant working experience (Project, Procurement, Engineering, Quality)
- MASTER / MBA in Business, Purchasing/Sourcing/Procurement/Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Structured way of thinking and working, able to think with the superordinated common target in the back of the mind
- Well-organized, service oriented, sociable and with a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, international mindset, team spirit
- Ability to challenge, results oriented, rigorous and structured
- Fluency in English and German
