**Duties**:

- Serve as a Network Security Analyst for the security of USAREUR command and control networks. Performs a broad range of duties involving the security management of the USAREUR command and control networks and associated software and hardware.
- Provide recommendations for Protected Distribution Systems Hardened Carrier (PDS/HC) upgrades to the current infrastructure and overseas PDS/HC implementation IAW Military Construction Project Data to address MCA issues.
- Manage and coordinate with the Regional Cyber Center Europe (RCC-E) for all security related trouble tickets involving actual or attempted intrusions, computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, hoaxes, etc.
- Report all network intrusions to the RCC-E. Recognize security breaches, and takes appropriate action to identify and thwart intruders.
- Responsible for identifying and supporting theater CS/IA Certification and Authorization, and security issues related to Non Secure Internet Protocol Routed Network, Secure Internet Protocol Routed Network, and Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN).
- Manage and coordinates guidance to RNEC/LNEC constituency on hardware/software required to bring systems/networks into regulatory compliance.
- Provide training to Cyber Security Workforce Personnel within the USAREUR footprint on technical issues, such as INFOSEC products, vulnerability scans, PDS, firewalls and other network security solutions;

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented information (SCI). The IT Level for this position is IT I. Position is designated as Special Sensitive, IT-II.
- Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter IAW AR 600-85 Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- Required to maintain military driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an IAM-Level II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M within 6 months of appointment to the position.
- Position is designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

**Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes providing cyber response services to an organization; assisting in the development of defensive countermeasures or threat/vulnerability analysis OR mitigating/remediating new and emerging threats to the network; presenting finalized reports and action items to management for approval; providing direct cyber security customer support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
- The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
