**Duties**:

- Maintain baseline and current target Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Data Network (DDN) Information Management Equipment (IME) configuration in the local military community.
- Oversee implementation and modification of the Non-Secure and Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR/SIPR) network architecture.
- Monitor all ongoing operation of the network environment with a large number of users in a community and ensure corrective action to restore operational service is accomplished.
- Configure and trouble-shoot Local Area Network (LAN)/Community Area Network (CAN)/Facility Area Network (FAN) routers and switches, ensuring all networking components are maintained.
- Monitor operation of the network ensuring that hardware and software are functioning properly and that operation standards are met.
- Analyze networking equipment and software, copper/fiber optic cables reliability, and utilization reports for large, complex equipment and software systems to identify and correct problem areas and to establish telecommunications performance levels.
- Develop proposals involving a variety of specialized systems and state-of-the-art enhancements designed to meet unique local requirements and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare testing and implementation plans; Establish test criteria and data for network interoperability to ensure all program modules and outputs for assigned project are tested for completeness and accuracy.

- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET eligibility with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- The IT classification for this position is IT I. Position is designated as Special Sensitive.
- Overtime will be required on short notice.
- Shift work may be required on a 24/7 basis and also may be necessary during exercises, crises, or contingencies.
- Incumbent may be required to temporarily work extended and irregular tours of duty to include days, nights, shifts and weekend.
- Incumbent may be required to perform 30% TDY to U.S. AFRICOM areas of responsibility.

**Qualifications**:

- This position is designated as IAT Level II position. Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DOD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating change 3, 24 Jan 2013 or current version).
- Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.- Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. **Specialized and Other Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes:

- **(1)** identifying server performance, availability, capacity or configuration problems;
- **(2)** remediating security vulnerabilities or risks across local or wide area networks;
- **(3)** performing, or leading other network technicians in, identification, diagnostics, or resolution of complex network related issues;
- **(4)** and troubleshooting Information Technology (IT) operating systems to identify weaknesses for system impr
