Risk Management is more important than ever, do you want to shape the future?

We are looking to hire a new Head of Business Risk.

The Head of Business Risk will be located in Stockholm (preferred), Berlin, Amsterdam or Hamburg.

SF Risk Management has overarching responsibility and is accountable for the risk management framework within Vattenfall as second line of defense. This includes ensuring the adherence of business areas and staff functions to the risk governance in Vattenfall, the coordination and safeguarding of risk reporting and providing transparency of Vattenfall's risk positions, as well as decision making support for the business and top management.

The Business Risk team provides independent oversight by delivering independent second opinions on the business' risk profiles and risk management methodologies and activities. This includes challenging and coaching business in risk governance, risk identification, risk assessment and risk response activities as well as risk reporting. Also, development and follow-up of a state-of-the-art risk culture, e.g., by means of best-practice sharing across the whole company and setting-up companywide risk networks is key.

The role involves working closely and proactively with both senior management on Group
- and Business level.

As Head of Business Risk Management you are leading a team of 4-5 highly skilled and senior Risk Managers. Together with your team you are responsible to maintain the high level of sophistication and efficiency of the overarching Enterprise Wide Risk Management process in Vattenfall. You constantly strive for improvements to ensure Vattenfall’s Risk Management processes stays ahead of the industry and the risk-reward balance of Vattenfall is transparent to decision makers.

Your role / what will you do?

Risk Governance / ERM-system
- Maintaining the Enterprise Risk Management system and ensuring risk transparency across all business
- and staff functions
- Steering Risk Coordinator network and fostering a healthy risk culture
- Review risks reported by the business/staff functions to ensure a reasonably comprehensive risk picture with adequate risk response actions identified (methodology, completeness
- and quality check)
- Steering trainings in risk management incl. risk reporting and risk assessment methodology
- Responsibility for Group Risk Report to Executive Management and Board of Directors & Legal Entity Risk Reports; contributing to Annual Report
- Close cooperation/alignment with other oversight functions (IT, Security, HR, Sustainability, Environment, Procurement, Insurance etc.)
- Close interaction with Group Internal Audit and Compliance

Independent oversight
- Securing a holistic risk picture by ensuring that bottom-up and top-down risk views are aligned
- Challenging & supporting risk owners on business
- and staff function-level on best practice risk management & risk culture
- Challenging & supporting business in risk-based decision making
- Participation in risk committees on business level
- Advancing the sustainability risk management set-up
- Steering of group-wide risk projects
- Ad-hoc support to CEO, CFO, BoD and other top management

This position reports to the Director Risk Analysis.

**Profile**:
Your profile / who are you?
- Open, positive and active leadership style with a balance of empathy and assertiveness
- Sound academic background in engineering, science, finance, law or economics
- At least 7 years of industry work experience and successful track record in managerial roles
- Experience from multinational enterprise beneficial, very good intercultural skills and people orientation imperative
- Knowledge of energy markets and energy value chain preferred
- Deep understanding of risk management theory and practices both, from a methodological as well as process perspective
- A curious and creative mind with the ability to think out of the box
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with commercial and technical colleagues as well as executive management alike
- Good analytical skills with a very good business sense and an international mindset
- Strong team approach with high motivation, flexibility, humor and drive
- Fluent in English, Swedish language skills expedient
