Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of
migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental
partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It
does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
**_Context:
- **
Under the direct supervision of the Family Assistance Program (FAP) Operations Officer
and responsible for ensuring the quality control and monitoring of the FAP Afghan caseload
reunification, resettlement, and evacuation caseloads.
**_Core Functions / Responsibilities: _**
1. Act as the quality control Focal Point for the FAP Afghan caseload remote operations and
assist in the day-to-day quality control monitoring of related FAP activities.
2. Assist the Operations Officer (Afghan caseload) to monitor all activities on FAP internal
software, including verification of the accuracy of data entry activities.

4. Enhance capacities of Migrant Service Assistants (MSAs) through providing ad hoc
5. Prepare reports and contribute to the data-management of the FAP project by preparing
statistical information and thematic reports whenever required.
6. Report in an expedite manner to supervisor or FAP management, if needed, any problems
or issues arising; and continuously make suggestions on how to improve efficiency and
quality of FAP services.
7. Maintain and promote confidentiality and integrity of all FAP-related matters and of all
beneficiaries, in accordance with guidelines and instructions, both internal of IOM and
donor.
8. Take active steps to mitigate fraud and malfeasance, and to monitor the integrity of records
containing individual data.
9. Support FAP Berlin activities related to the Afghan caseload, in particular, those that
require communication with the German NGOs and other external German stakeholders.
10. Provide timely and accurate information to German speaking representatives. This will
include updating information sheets and visa requirement checklists in German; assisting
requirements or submission procedures.
11. Ensure that staff maintain high degree of skill in using IOM internal software platforms and
enter required applicant and representatives’ data accurately.
12. Make informal translations of documents, communication and meetings as needed.
13. Ensure that staff outreaches to sponsors and principal applicants to answer questions and
provide remote guidance on form filling, visa requirements and general information.
14. Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or CoM.
**_Required Qualifications and Experience _**
**Education**
Bachelor’s degree in or in Business Management, Client Services, Social Science,
Engineering Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with at least
four years of relevant professional experience, preferably in similar roles;
OR
Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with at least six years
of relevant professional experience.
**Experience and Skills**
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions
and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims
of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
- Previous work experience in international organizations and service industry
companies would be an advantage.
PowerPoint, Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft
- Strong interpersonal & intercultural skills with an attention to detail.
**Languages**
Fluency in English, German, Dari, or Pashto (Oral and written).
