About The ChangemakerXchange Community The ChangemakerXchange Community began in 2012 as a programme under Ashoka to support young changemakers and build a global community. In 2020, the team behind it founded ChangemakerXchange gGmbH, an independent nonprofit organisation dedicated to continuing and growing this work. Our programmes under the community pillar focus on different themes and take place in different regions. Check out some current and past programmes on our website. Summit We bring together all selected participants of a programme for a 5‑day in‑person retreat in or close to nature to connect, unwind, get inspired, and learn from one another. We financially support collaborative efforts between members of a cohort/programme. Capacity Building Participants conduct an online needs assessment and are then matched with experts & mentors. Ecosystem Events Financial support for member’s travel costs to attend relevant events (e.g., COP). Community Engagement Online and offline activities for our global community of members, all of whom are ‘alumni’ from previous programmes. We Strive for a Workplace That Is: Supportive and empowering: somewhere team members truly feel good to work at. Diverse and inclusive: a place where differences are valued and celebrated. Open and authentic: a place where everyone feels safe to speak up about issues or discomforts so we can prevent and address toxic workplace dynamics. Distributed decision‑making: an organisation where everyone on the team is included in major decisions, and where we have open conversations about hierarchy, responsibility, and decision‑making power. For more information, check out our Team Manifesto. At ChangemakerXchange, we celebrate diversity as one of the key values and strengths which helps us to thrive as a global community. We strive to create a fully inclusive environment for all our team members and community members and have a dedicated DEI team to uphold this. Our ultimate goal is a core team is to be as diverse as the community members we serve, and we explicitly encourage marginalised candidates to apply.
