Based in Frankfurt, the (Senior) Business Development Manager will be working as part of the team at Enterprise Singapore’s Frankfurt office.

As a (Senior) Business Development Manager, you will support the Regional Directors to help Singapore-based enterprises expand their businesses in the Western European markets within the office’s geographical coverage, such as Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg (Benelux) regions.


Key Responsibilities

You are expected to perform the following functions:


  • Facilitate Singapore-based enterprises to enter the markets across various sectors under the office’s coverage;
  • Gather market information and monitor news and developments useful to the sectors or markets of interest;
  • Create relevant industry and internal reports on a timely basis to help develop Singapore-based enterprises’ and HQ’s understanding of the market opportunities, market entry strategies and innovation ecosystems;
  • Attend relevant industry trade shows, conferences and seminars within the assigned geographical coverage to gather market information and support the development of business opportunities for Singapore-based enterprises;
  • Plan, organise and execute physical and virtual business delegation visits, meetings and pitching sessions to facilitate business development efforts;
  • Support the Regional Directors in the organisation of marketing trips, missions and other events and activities, as assigned;
  • You may expect regular travel between Germany and the Benelux countries, which will be reviewed based on business requirements as well as the latest risk assessments and travel advisories by the German government.




Desired Skills and Experience

You should have a recognised good degree with preferably 2 to 4 years of prior business or project development experience within NGOs, the private or public sector. Prior experience in handling projects related to the markets and to sectors such as healthcare and biomedical, offshore wind, transport & logistics and innovation sectors will be a plus. You should possess strong analytical and report writing skills, be a confident presenter with good interpersonal skills, and be able to drive projects and organise events independently with a view of achieving clear outcomes for Singapore companies. You will need to be proficient speaking and writing in English and German. Other language proficiency will be a plus.
