Headquarted in Hamburg, this is a $15bn revenue company who are delivering record profits, have a very strong balance sheet and are making a lot of acquisitions. This is one of the few companies of their size in Germany who are still at the start of their journey with Data & Analytics and AI. The CEO has come from a $100bn revenue public company with world class data and AI and wants to repeat the formula in this company.
This is the perfect opportunity for a Manager/ Senior Manager / Head of to join a new leadership team and to develop into the Successor for the CDAIO.
The Role
- You will have a team of 10 people on Day 1 and the investment to scale your team in line with the strategy for D&A and AI and business growth
- You will have ownership of the AI strategy with a particular focus on the inhouse LLM based GenAI product
- You will also have ownership of the development and management of standardized data products, reports, dashboards, datasets for self-service BI, advanced analytics and AI
- The team will serve internal Group (corporate) functions including Finance, Tax, Treasury, HR and IT
- You will partner with senior business stakeholders including the CFO and his direct reports
The role has the following dimensions –
- Operational: Maintain and optimize existing products by collaborating with stakeholders to clearly define and prioritize product requirements. You will be the Lead Product Manager accountable for creating data and AI products at scale and selling these to the external market.
- Leadership: Build a team who are geographically dispersed across Germany, hiring and developing the best talent and creating leadership and succession
- Commercial: Manage the P&L, measure the value creation or cost saving of data and AI products and create agreements with external partners
The Candidate
- 10+ years experience in Data and Analytics and data product management
- 3+ years in a hands on leadership role
- Strong background D&A and AI use cases in the Finance function and deep experience of Finance business processes e.g. Planning and Performance Management, Financial Reporting, International Trade, Controlling, Forecasting, Treasury
- Strong understanding of Data Architecture, including Azure, Databricks and Power BI
- Experience with traditional BI Solutions, Data Science and ML platforms
- Experience with LLMs and/or GenAI beneficial
- Experience in the Financial Services, Supply Chain, Logistics or Energy industry is beneficial
- Fluent German beneficial
- You must be in Hamburg or able to travel to Hamburg minimum 2 days per month
