The Role:
We are looking for an Institutional Sales Director to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany. The role will and continue to develop our presence in the institutional market with a focus on our private asset expertise. A successful candidate will have extensive client experience with a deep understanding needs and excellent investment and market knowledge.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Responsible for managing and originating institutional client and prospect relationships in Germany
- Delivering the full capabilities of M&G as an investment manager partner to key client targets in these markets with a specific focus to private assets
- Proactively contributing to M&G Germany's institutional strategy
- Ensure that team processes and procedures are adhered to
- Develop internal relationships with product and fund management teams, understanding their focus areas and helping bring these to market in the region
- Develop deep knowledge of M&G's relevant funds, strategies and solutions and how to position these with relevant target clients
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Strong team player and consensus builder who balances high levels of individual drive and motivation with a desire to work
- Exposure to a multi-asset class investment environment: fixed income, equity, real estate debt and equity, infrastructure, PE and private debt, deep private markets knowledge is essential
- Strong technical skills; portfolio management and/or investment consulting experience would be a useful addition, but is not essential.
- Deep understanding of and experience with the local German regulations for different types of institutional investors and their needs
- A proven track record in institutional sales: Ability in managing clients and winning new business
- Results-oriented and focused on accomplishments rather than activity
- Strong communication skills: native German and fluent English
- Organised and methodical approach to tasks
- Ability to manage and control multiple priorities and competing deadlines
- Degree educated. Investment management qualification and/or the CFA/CAIA designation will be considered a plus.

- Critical role in translating strategy into implementation plans, influences and contributes to the strategy
- Ensures successful implementation of defined strategy
- Balances competing requirements to deliver a balanced set of results, resolving significant or priority conflicts
- Addresses problems with broad reaching ramifications, with a need to manage different parts of complex systems and link to the broader picture
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement
