  • In this key role, you’ll be supporting in overseeing and addressing operational risk (OpRisk) management challenges in NatWest Bank Europe (NWBE) GmbH

What you'll do 

 

As a Non-Financial Risk Manager, you’ll contribute to the preparation of the risk inventory and pro-active oversight and management of all OpRisk aspects in collaboration with different stakeholders across the legal entity and the UK.  

 

You’ll also be responsible for maintaining compliance with German regulatory requirements, managing changes and OpRisk matters in NWBE GmbH.  

 

Through the course of your work, you’ll be:  

 

  • Providing inputs to the quarterly risk report that is produced for the Management Board and Supervisory Board of NWBE GmbH on OpRisk losses, near misses, scenarios, internal control weaknesses and OpRisk quantification 

  • Conducting second line checks on first line entries to the events and loss data base, and first line OpRisk assessments, following the Group methodology 

  • Providing inputs to the Scenario Analysis process, ICAAP and Risk Bearing Capacity calculation and stress testing  

  • Collaborating with finance and regulatory reporting to update the OpRisk reporting template annually to Bundesbank using the basic indicator approach or standardised approach 

  • Producing the yearly report to the Supervisory Board of NWBE GmbH regarding the internal control system's adequacy from a second line and CRO perspective 

  • Acting as the key contact and link for all OpRisk matters between the Group and the legal entity 

 

 

The skills you'll need 

 

We’re looking for someone who can speak, read and write fluently in both German and English and has experience of relevant German legal policies, regulatory and statutory obligations and risk management.  

 

You’ll also have:  

 

  • Good knowledge with substantial experience in a similar OpRisk management role 

  • The ability to adopt a methodical approach to manage risks through to mitigation 

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
