What part will you play?
The Global Head of Procurement will lead the global procurement function, ensuring the strategic sourcing of goods and services that support SI GSW operational and financial goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in procurement, supply chain management, and vendor relations within the software and technology sector. The Head of Procurement will develop and implement procurement strategies, manage a team of procurement professionals, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards.
  • Procurement Strategy: Developing, aligning and implementing the global procurement strategy with consideration of business objectives and in alignment with the SCM pooling organization
  • Sourcing decisions: Driving sourcing decisions preferably with advanced negotiation concepts in alliance with crossfunctions and creating frame contracts
  • Transformative Leadership: Spearhead the evolution of the procurement team and business processes to champion the energy transition, fostering innovation and sustainability at every level of sourcing and supply chain management
  • Acting as a role model to lead, coach and develop the global GridSoftware procurement team with regards to the new challenges such as digitalization, sustainability, cyber security and agile way of working
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Portfolio Development, IT, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment and support for procurement activities
  • Strategic Supplier Partnership: Cultivate and maintain elite relationships with global suppliers, negotiating superior terms and ensuring top-tier quality and reliability to drive competitive advantage
  • Supplier Management: Select, assess, and develop suppliers, managing supplier processes (e.g., assessment, development, initiatives, control), and ensure transparency and early involvement of procurement and suppliers
  • Innovative Procurement Excellence: Implement cutting-edge procurement systems and methodologies, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance efficiency, drive cost savings, and achieve strategic business goals
  • Oversee the sourcing and procurement of software, hardware, and other technology-related products and services
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Reporting and Controlling: Report and control in line with the CSCM reporting guideline and to secure compliance with procurement standards, regulations and initiatives of GridSoftware
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, tracking expenditures and identifying areas for cost reduction
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings to senior management
What you need to make real what matters.
  • The basis of your success is preferably a technical or commerical master´s degree
  • Successfully completed commercial or technical training
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in order processing/logistics/procurement and/or related functional areas (e.g., SCM); ideally with leadership experience as a team leader, project manager, or department head
  • Proven experience in team leadership and the ability to lead a team effectively
  • Experience in cooperation and collaboration with global partners
  • Extensive expertise in supplier management, supplier qualification, supply chain finance, value analysis, and design to cost/target costing
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication, networking, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, holistic approach, and cross-functional action
