Application Engineering Team Lead

I am looking for experienced JavaScript full-stack engineers or architects with lead experience to join a German start-up that works on modernizing and digitalizing automotive manufacturing as an Application Engineering Team Lead.

This is a hybrid position based in Berlin, Germany.

In the Application Engineering Team Lead role, you will face highly challenging tasks, but the growth opportunities are equally extraordinary. You will establish connections with the upper echelons of major automotive corporations, gaining insights from our R&D team, which consistently pioneers products that push the boundaries of what is currently possible.

You will: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for direct communications with Automotive OEM customers, ensuring their requirements are thoroughly understood and met.
  • Lead and manage the development of custom software solutions utilizing the company's low-code platform, focusing on optimizing and expanding its capabilities.
  • Continuously develop and adjust modules of the platform to meet the evolving needs of users and customers.
  • Work with custom datasets to integrate seamlessly into the company software solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6 junior to middle software engineers, fostering an environment of growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with project stakeholders and internal SW teams to ensure that solutions are delivered on time and within budget while adhering to the highest standards of quality.

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a robust focus on JavaScript/TypeScript Full-Stack. Additional experience in other languages such as Rust, Golang, and Python is highly advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in GraphQL, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Solid background in direct customer stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams, including aspects of recruitment, leadership, and mentorship.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in German (minimum B2 level) is preferred due to frequent interactions with German-speaking clients.
  • A formal degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
