About this position

Join us at GLS/NXT as Engineering Lead for our parcel locker venture We are looking for an experienced addition to our team who will take over the responsibility of leading, aligning and developing our team of incredibly talented software engineers and enable them to take our products to the next level. You will establish a state-of-the-art tech stack for disrupting E-Commerce logistics together with our Head of Engineering, your fellow Engineering Leads and various other venture teams at GLS/NXT. In this crucial state of growth, apart from your technical expertise, we count on your leadership and communication skills in developing our unique culture.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver high-quality products and services in the parcel locker space
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, data, design, and operations 
  • Act as a technical advisor and mentor to the engineering team
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Ensure the team is following best practices and that our code is maintainable, scalable, and secure
  • Manage and prioritize the team's workload and resources to ensure on-time delivery of projects
  • Take charge of recruitment, development and retention of your team members


What you need to be successful

Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven track record as an Engineering Lead or in a similar engineering role, demonstrating strong leadership and (people) management capabilities
  • Extensive technical expertise and hands-on experience in software development, including proficiency with modern programming languages, frameworks, and testing suites
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with API-based software platforms
  • Extensive experience in Backend / DevOps roles

  • Exceptional ability to recruit, lead, and manage a high-performing engineering team
  • Expertise in establishing and managing software development operations, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and agile methodologies
  • Ability to excel in fast-paced, dynamic, and agile environments
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects, and allocate time effectively to meet business objectives
