**About the position**:

- Remote status: Hybrid
- Number of positions: 1

Due to the nature of the role, this is a hybrid position with semi-regular in-person events and meetings taking place either in Berlin and Hamburg. Frequent travel to our HQ in Berlin is required.

Tasks

**Your role and goals**:
Your responsibilities will include leadership, mentoring, and developing the Cloud infrastructure function. You will manage multiple projects. Monitor, maintain, and report on hosted systems. Ensure the Security Posture of the IT systems and Maintain Compliance with company standards.

**In this role, you will**:

- Run our infrastructure as a platform product with the developers as customers
- Lead the cloud team running our infrastructure platform as a service, including hosting, data & storage, observability, tooling, and CI/CD
- Provide a stable, secure, and scaling platform to our customers across different countries, regions, and hyperscalers
- Collaborate with product operations and compliance teams to ensure high-quality and compliance
- Participate in defining the platform strategy, selecting the right technologies and tools, in accordance to the budget
- Lead our IT Security & Administration team; enable them to focus on building and upgrading IT infrastructure, processes, and monitor systems for maximum efficiency
- Discuss and explain our infrastructure to our customers and commercial team.

**Requirements**:
What does success look like in this role?
- You possess good people management skills and experience ensuring development of team members
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and management levels
- Proven experience leading an engineering team
- Customer centricity, ability to talk with customers, understand their needs, translate this into technology
- Interest in trends and technologies beyond the scope of your work
- Be the example, knowing what is good code, good practices, good collaboration.

**What you bring to the team**:

- Hands-on experience with modern platforms close to our technology stack (Kubernetes, SAP Gardener, GitLab, Elastic, Helm, Linkerd / Buoyant Cloud, CockroachDB, MongoDB, Hashicorp Vault Enterprise, Snyk) and hosting on hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, OpenStack, VMware vSphere)
- Experience in fintechs and regulated environments
- Experience in leading, organizing, and mentoring teams
- Experience in attracting and hiring happy and successful team(s).
