make building on Shopware delightful, fast, and scalable
for every developer, partner, and contributor. To bring this vision to life, we're looking for a
Technical Program Manager (TPM)
to lead our cross-company Developer Experience program.

This position can be filled on-site, hybrid, but also full-remote within Germany or specific European countries where we are registered. Your work location will be agreed upon in advance and forms the basis of your employment contract.

Technical Program Manager – Developer Experience
, you lead the program that defines how developers
build, extend, and succeed
with Shopware. You connect
engineering, product, QA, DevRel, and documentation teams
– and collaborate with
marketing, sales, and external contributors
– to ensure
smooth delivery
across initiatives that shape the future of Shopware's
developer platform
.

Your mission is to ensure that Shopware remains the
most open, efficient, and empowering commerce platform
for developers worldwide.

  • Acting as the driving force behind our Developer Experience vision, you ensure measurable improvements across product units and continuous delivery of value.
  • With a proactive mindset, you identify and mitigate risks before they escalate, maintaining transparency on trade-offs and delivery impact for all stakeholders.
  • Cross-departmental coordination is a key part of your role, as you align priorities and ensure seamless collaboration between engineering, product, DevRel, QA, marketing, and sales.
  • Different workstreams — from APIs, SDKs, CLI tooling, documentation, and sandbox environments — are connected through your structured approach, creating a consistent and enjoyable developer journey.
  • Through workshops and alignment sessions, you bring together internal teams, external partners, and the community, fostering collective ownership of Developer Experience outcomes.
  • Your analytical thinking helps you use data, GitHub insights, and AI-powered tools to monitor progress, streamline collaboration, and uncover improvement opportunities early.
  • By establishing repeatable frameworks and lean delivery processes, you help teams stay focused, efficient, and connected across the entire organization.

This is what you'll bring to the table:

  • A strong combination of technical fluency, systems thinking, and communication skills enables you to connect strategy and execution effectively.
  • You have at least five years of professional experience in software project or program management, technical leadership, or a comparable cross-functional role.
  • Previous experience in engineering, DevOps, or developer relations – ideally within open source, SaaS, or platform development – helps you navigate complex ecosystems confidently.
  • A solid understanding of modern development ecosystems, including APIs, SDKs, CI/CD, and developer tooling, allows you to support teams effectively.
  • You know how to translate roadmap goals into deliverable increments and measurable KPIs that drive tangible outcomes.
  • By identifying dependencies and risks early, you ensure alignment and maintain predictable delivery processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills help you build trust across distributed teams.
  • A genuine passion for open source collaboration and for improving the developer journey shapes how you approach your work.
  • Fluent English skills are essential for this role; German is not required.
  • Initial experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopware or Magento, leading developer tooling, CI/CD, or API initiatives, contributing to open-source projects, or working with AI-assisted development and modern SDK/CLI systems perfectly rounds off your profile.
