Manager of the Technical Execution Team, Technical Execution Team
Vor 2 Tagen
As the first point of contact for technical matters within international robotics deployment projects, you'll advocate for customers while removing technology blockers that could impact deployment timelines. Your team provides essential technical troubleshooting, quality assurance, commissioning support, and field engineering expertise that enables RDE teams to execute deployments efficiently and at scale across the international fulfillment network.
This is not a product development role—you'll validate and enable the deployment of technologies developed by others, translating complex technical challenges into actionable solutions while maintaining focus on deployment efficiency and system reliability.
You'll lead validation efforts for infrastructure changes such as IT cloud migrations, assessing their impact on deployment methodologies and updating commissioning procedures accordingly. Early involvement in new product development cycles is critical—you'll review draft playbooks from Deployment Readiness (DR) teams, identify gaps in training materials, and ensure commissioning procedures are practical and scalable before technologies roll out to the field.
Your strategic impact extends beyond immediate problem-solving. You'll analyze lessons learned from deployment series, filter relevant findings, and provide structured feedback to Design teams, Hardware teams, and Product Developers. This drives process improvements and prevents recurring issues across future deployments. You'll establish training frameworks for Contractor Deployment Engineers (CDEs) and Third-Party Assemblers (3PAs), create technical validation protocols, and implement feedback loops that continuously improve deployment efficiency.
The role demands both technical depth and people leadership. You'll manage a geographically distributed team across multiple European time zones while collaborating with APAC counterparts to ensure consistent technical standards internationally. You'll balance immediate deployment needs with long-term scalability goals, working closely with RDE managers to meet Plan of Record (POR) requirements while influencing stakeholders across Product Development, IT, Operations, and RME without direct authority.
Travel is approximately one week per month on average, with variability based on deployment cycles—ranging from minimal travel for several months to more intensive periods of 2-3 weeks when on-site commissioning support or technical quality audits are needed.
This role can be based in Berlin or London.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive technical architecture decisions for large-scale robotics systems
• Develop technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation
• Partner with Product, IT, Software, and Hardware teams to define requirements
• Mentor and develop engineering talent
• Travel up to 30% is required.
A day in the life
Your morning starts reviewing overnight updates from your distributed European team. A System Engineer in Germany flagged a commissioning issue requiring troubleshooting and potential escalation to Product Developers. You join roadmap alignment meetings with RDE managers, advocate for early involvement in new product launches, and review technical documentation for upcoming IT infrastructure migrations.
Afternoons focus on strategic work—analyzing deployment lessons learned, compiling feedback for Design and Hardware teams, and conducting remote training sessions for CDEs on new robotics technologies. You balance one-on-ones with your team for career development, coordinate with IT and Operations stakeholders, and collaborate with your APAC counterpart on technical standards. Monthly site visits provide hands-on commissioning support and face-to-face team building.
