YOUR MISSION

A Director AI/Computational Chemistry is sought to develop and/or guide AI/ML applications in our drug discovery platform covering virtual screening, targeted hit explosion harnessing ML- and physics-based models and multiparameter optimization of hits and leads. The candidate would work with teams in protein sciences, X-ray crystallography, CryoEM, and other biophysical technologies to develop and implement use cases to further accelerate and gain efficiency of the Proteros drug discovery platform.

  • Developing and implementing an AI/ML research strategy in partnership with the leadership team
  • Building and managing a portfolio of use cases to advance the drug discovery platforms across all departments.
  • Overseeing research projects and collaborating with internal technology platform teams.
  • Presenting research and establishing collaborations.
  • Driving the adoption of new computational tools.

YOUR PROFILE

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology/Chemistry, or a related field with a focus on machine learning is typically required.
  • Candidates should have over 5+ years of AI/ML research experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Successful applicants should demonstrate leadership of multidisciplinary projects and a strong publication record.
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and statistical modeling for molecular design is essential, along with a strategic vision for integrating AI into drug discovery.
  • Experience in developing machine learning models for structural modeling approaches is also noted.
  • Necessary skills include the ability to bridge AI expertise with biological knowledge, proficiency in programming languages and ML frameworks, and experience with cloud environments.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills are required, coupled with problem-solving ability, strategic thinking, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
