TYTAN is a young deep-tech defense startup that develops a cost-effective counter-drone solution to protect people and critical infrastructure. We are an international team of ambitious engineers who combine expertise in autonomous systems and UAV design.
TYTAN's Business Development (BD) team drives our commercial growth. Our mission is to identify, shape, and capture opportunities that strengthen TYTAN's position in autonomous air defence. This requires a deep understanding of user needs, gaps in current systems, and how TYTAN's AI-enabled capabilities deliver real tactical advantage.
As Business Development Lead, you will represent TYTAN externally and champion the mission internally. We're looking for a strategic hunter who knows that success in defense depends on the right allies: someone who can shape requirements, navigate "Big Defense," and secure the partnerships that enable success at scale.
Your roadmap to make an impact
- Drive New Business Opportunities - Build TYTAN's revenue pipeline by mapping customer roadmaps, tracking competitors, and shaping winning capture strategies. Lead senior engagements to position TYTAN ahead of tenders.
- Expand Existing Customer Accounts - Strengthen customer relationships and convert mission success into expansion. Identify adjacent needs and influence future programs.
- Lead Strategic Partnerships - Develop and govern teaming arrangements—especially with defense primes—to integrate TYTAN into major platforms and multinational efforts.
- Champion TYTAN's Value Proposition - Communicate TYTAN's value and differentiation across industry events, government meetings, and strategic outreach.
- Inform Product and Technology Direction - Translate customer needs into clear guidance for product and engineering teams, shaping roadmap priorities and investment decisions.
Who you are
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Business Development or Capture within defense, aerospace, or security.
- Confident interfacing with senior military leaders, defense primes, and acquisition authorities.
- Able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.
- Willing to travel internationally up to 50%.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Experience working with or within major military primes and defense suppliers.
- Proven success shaping and winning complex defense programs.
- Deep understanding of integrated hardware–software defense systems, ideally in air defense, autonomy development, or sensor capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of government contracting, procurement processes, and industrial participation frameworks.
- Proven track record leading multi-year capture campaigns across engineering, finance, and legal dimensions.
- Background in defense or Aerospace industry is a plus .
- Additional European languages, experience within NATO armed forces, or MoD procurement expertise.
