Who we are looking for

We are seeking a proactive and analytical
Mid-Level Programme Manager

to join our Delta Ecosystem Team. This role sits at the intersection of community building, investor relations, and venture growth, making it ideal for someone who thrives on relationship-building, enjoys connecting dots across networks, and is excited by the fast-paced world of startups and early-stage investing.

You will play a key role in activating our investor and partner networks, strengthening startup-investor connections, and ensuring that ecosystem engagement translates into measurable commercial outcomes. Beyond ecosystem building, you'll contribute directly to new business opportunities, revenue generation, and program innovation.

If you are passionate about entrepreneurship, eager to work across Africa and Europe's innovation landscapes, and ready to gain hands-on exposure to venture ecosystems, this role offers a front-row seat to startup growth, fundraising dynamics, and ecosystem design.

This position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the Cape Town office, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.

Please note: This is a full-time permanent position (40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

Community & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Manage day-to-day engagement with investors, startups, accelerators, and strategic partners.
  • Organise online and offline community touchpoints: roundtables, pitch days, investor events, working groups, and webinars.
  • Maintain CRM systems, update lead pipelines and fundraising roadmaps, and track engagement metrics.
  • Actively source, evaluate, and onboard new investors and partners.

Investor Relations & Deal Flow Activation

  • Nurture investor relationships, understand their investment theses, and match them with vetted startup opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Ecosystem Manager to map ecosystem connections for funding support.
  • Monitor fundraising pipelines and flag promising deals for investor follow-up.
  • Refine and improve matchmaking systems to enhance deal flow quality.

Deal Analysis & Strategic Recommendations

  • Conduct research, founder interviews, and financial assessments to evaluate startup readiness.
  • Prepare investment memos, deal briefs, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support the creation of standardised deal scoring frameworks and readiness criteria.

Revenue-Generating Opportunities & Partnerships

  • Assist in developing proposals and onboarding ecosystem partners.
  • Contribute to monetising ecosystem assets such as fundraising support, lead generation, and capital raise initiatives.

Program & Product Innovation

  • Work with the Ecosystem Manager to design and pilot new programs, cohorts, or digital tools.
  • Run small-scale initiatives such as bootcamps, working groups, or knowledge-sharing hubs.
  • Collect user feedback and collaborate with product teams to improve ecosystem tools and offerings.

Internal Operations & Reporting

  • Track KPIs and team OKRs, ensuring progress is monitored and reported.
  • Support the preparation of internal updates and reporting on ecosystem performance.

What you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Product Management, Project Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, though hands-on experience in venture capital, startup operations, or ecosystem development can be equally valuable.
  • 2–4 years of experience in venture capital, startup operations, ecosystem building, consulting, or business development.
  • Familiarity with startup investment processes, early-stage funding stages, and pitch materials.
  • Experience managing communities or partnerships across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and see projects through to completion.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Airtable) or data-tracking tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international, and dynamic environment.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Existing relationships with African or global investors, accelerators, or innovation hubs.
  • Experience supporting or leading programs (fellowships, demo days, bootcamps, etc.).
  • Background in market research, due diligence, or investor/founder support.
