Research Scientist (f/m/d)

In Vitro Pharmacology

Full-time and permanent

This is a scientific role with project and line management responsibilities, providing the chance to lead and innovate in the field of novel therapeutics discovery in various disease areas.

Your key responsibilities:

- Establish, optimize, and oversee the execution of biochemical and cell-based assays independently within drug discovery projects using recombinant cell lines and primary cells
- Establish new methods/technologies based on cutting-edge publications
- Lead the experimental work of laboratory staff and supervise data generation and interpretation
- Troubleshoot when necessary to maintain high data quality and timely delivery of data
- Communicate study findings effectively in multidisciplinary project teams
- Assume line management responsibilities by leading, supervising, and developing a small team of research assistants
- Assume responsibility for lab infrastructures safety and for compliance of lab staff with Health and Safety regulations and local SOPs
- Generate proposals and plans for new projects in preclinical drug discovery
- Keep up-to-date with scientific findings from literature, scientific meetings and other sources

Your ideal qualifications:

- PhD level qualification in Biology/Pharmacology, with several years’ proven experience in developing and running in vitro pharmacological assays gained in a drug discovery environment in Pharma/Biotech
- Extensive cell-based and biochemical assay development experience with a variety of readout technologies (FLIPR, HTRF, MSD, Luminex, FACS etc.)
- Experience in imaging technologies is a plus
- Proficiency in pharmacology data analysis packages (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Genedata screener)
- Ability to coach and mentor junior staff to guide experimental planning and data interpretation
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Previous experience in reproductive and women’s health is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, technical and communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional project teams and within a matrix and culturally diverse environment
- Good English verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of German is a plus
